Living in interesting times is both a blessing for journalists and a curse for the vast majority of others who prefer to live in tranquil, happier times. But it’s in an “interesting” time as the Chinese Canadian Museum is preparing to open in Vancouver’s historic Chinatown, a community struggling to survive amid a rising tide of racism on the edge of the chaotic Downtown Eastside.
