BC SPOKES Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Anti-Racism Community Group is the community committee for the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows (Ridge Meadows) region.

BC SPOKES Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Anti-Racism Community Group is part of a province-wide anti-racism network called Resilience BC. Resilience BC serves as a hub to connect communities to anti-racism information, training, and resources throughout the province.

The “spokes” are region and community-driven committees. BC SPOKES Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Anti-Racism Community Group is the community committee for the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows (Ridge Meadows) region.

It is led by members of the Family Education and Support Centre, Fraser River Indigenous Society, The Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, and Katzie Local Immigration Partnership, as well as interested community partners and community members.

Spring 2022

Hosted One Love Fest to commemorate International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Summer 2022

Participated in National Indigenous Peoples Day and Multiculturalism Day events. Helped with planning event for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Assisted with National Day for Truth and Reconciliation event

Current Work

Educational social media posts related to anti-racism. Current topics for February include Black History Month and Aboriginal Story Tellers Month.
